Today is the first day that I’m able to use the computer. Before I set off, I thought that the wi-fi facility of the hotel is easily accessible but in fact, the HK$12 per hour is just for using their computer which is so slow. Wi-fi costs HK$18. I decided to use it last night ga but the Rs175 card was sold out. Anyway, I’m now using the internet in an internet cafe near the hospital.

I have typed my blog “script” every night but I don’t have the chance to upload them. I hope that I can use the wi-fi (eventually) tonight la.

Here in Mumbai, India is very very hot. We need to drink litres of (iced) water every day with little “output”. The sun is sooooo bright that I have to take out my umbrella that I usually do not do so in Hong Kong. Sunscreen lotion and mosquito spray are the must everyday before we go out.

My sister was right. I rarely do not get used to the food and there is little food that I don’t like. The food is spicy but delicious. We are learning the Indian menu bit by bit. At least we know how to order food that make us feel full. This afternoon we have just had a “Hong Kong fried rice”. Haha… There is often some “Chinese food” in the menu but in fact not too Chinese. Once we had a “Chicken Hakka Noodle” and it was quite “Chinese”. Last night we went to a decent vegetarian restaurant, which was a nice nice experience.

I felt that the hotel was terrible when we just arrived there but now we get used to it. Actually it is quite cosy as it is air-conditioned. Travel is convenient. Taking a bus that costs <HK$1 can go to the hospital and it is just 5-10 minutes walk to the nearest railway station. We decided to stay there for the rest of the time in Mumbai.

We started school yesterday. All of us started with internal medicine first. There is a ward round every morning around 9:30am. Dr Sonawane is really willing to teach. We are being “asked to burst” (chou bao jor). He asked a lot about physical signs and the physiology, particularly cardiology. Probably this is the subject he is the most keen on.

Travelling on train here is really an unforgettable experience. It is SUPER crowded during peak hours. It is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from what we are experiencing in Hong Kong. We failed to get off the train last night. The people, though they wanted to help us, but they couldn’t. We could feel what is meant by “oi mok nung jor”. Kelvin’s bag was torn during the “flooding of people”. In fact the railway company is very considerate, they have a “lady compartment” for every train, but we want to be together ma.

The coming Friday is a public holiday and we will be going outside Mumbai. We have bought the train ticket to Aurangabad, which is about 7-8 hours of travelling from Mumbai. We will take the night train on Thursday night and arrive in the following morning. Then we will go to 2 caves, each on 1 day. And we will come back on Saturday night.

Although I’ve typed a blog this afternoon, I will try the wi-fi in the hotel tonight. Hope that it will be fine la.

Talk to you guys later.

Rita

Dear all, This is my fourth day in India … 閱讀全文 →

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[745

post-2216","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-blog
["GET
